Drawing is fundamental to Stibbon’s practice. Her work emerges through walking and gathering research ‘in the field’, often drawing from observation or using a camera. She is attracted to locations that are in a state of flux, dynamic formation, or erosion. Stibbon’s recurring theme is the reflection and realisation that apparently monumental or permanent features of the natural environment are, in fact, extremely fragile. Her work has been widely exhibited, including recent solo exhibitions at the Stadtmuseum Berlin, Upstairs Berlin, the Rabley Drawing Centre and R O O M, London. Her work is included in numerous private and public collections, including the Stadtmuseum Berlin; V&A, Bristol City Museum & Art Gallery, Pallant House Gallery, Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle and Potsdam Museum.
