A Small Kakiemon Ewer with Silver Cover
Edo period (late 17th century), the mounts 18th century
Of hexagonal form decorated in iron-red, green, blue and black enamels, each side with sprays of hibiscus and cherry blossom alternating with stylised plum blossom and karakusa, the base of the neck with a band of lappets, the mouth with karakusa designs and the silver cover inset with a Dutch coin, a quarter thaler of Friedrich Ulrich of Brunswick-Lüneburg of 1625.
