An Arita Vase and Cover in the Kakiemon Style
Edo period (late 17th century)
Decorated in underglaze blue and iron-red, green, yellow, blue and black enamels of the Kakiemon palette, with a ho-o bird perched in a branch of a peach tree, with three underglaze blue lines towards the ring foot, the shoulder with bands of geometric patterns, karakusa and lappets, the domed cover and finial similarly decorated with chrysanthemums
