A Lacquered Copper Medallion Depicting the Emperor Constantine the Great
Edo period (late 18th century)
The oval copper medallion decorated in gold hiramaki-e [low-relief lacquer], with details embellished with inlaid gold foil, against a black lacquer ground with the Roman emperor Constantine the Great, the inscription reads:

IMP. CONSTANTINVS. MAX. P. F. AVG.

The reverse also with inscription
