Edo period (late 17th century)
Decorated in iron-red and gilt on underglaze blue, the exterior with shield-shaped lappets, the upper enclosing stylised foliage and chrysanthemum with leaves, the lower enclosing stylised peony, all above cherry and pomegranate trees, the well with a roundel showing a vase containing flower sprays framed by two broad and thin blue borders, the everted rim with eight shield-shaped lappets enclosing stylised peony and chrysanthemum, circumferential blue lines to the footring
