Edo period (late 17th century)
Decorated in iron-red, yellow, green, aubergine and black enamels and gilt on underglaze blue, the exterior with three figures in a continuous landscape with various flowers and trees including plum, peony, pine and maple, issuing from rockwork, buildings on a cliff and mountains in the distance above clouds, the interior with a roundel enclosing a similar landscape, surrounded by large sprays of peony, the rim with a band of flowerhead and scrolling foliage, the foot with a border of stylised flowers and scrolling foliage, above a geometric band to the footing, two circumferential lines to the base
