Edo period (late 17th to early 18th century)
Decorated in iron-red and gilt on underglaze blue with a roundel depicting a scene with bijin walking a small dog accompanied by an attendant in a garden amongst prunus, peony, chrysanthemum and irises, both looking back at a girl waving from behind bamboo blinds, the wide rim with a border of pomegranate, peonies and foliage, reverse with a similar but larger border, two bands of geometric patterns around the footring
