The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall, as can be seen in the illustration the surface of the iron has a deep, rich patina with surface rust and pitting consistent with its age. There are a few minor dents to the iron and it is clear that it has been mounted at some stage with a shikoro. The interior has surface rust.
