The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The first overall in good condition for age. As can be seen in the illustration there is slight old wear overall consistent with age and use, including small dents, scratches and chips. A few small pieces of inlay lacking.

The second with old wear overall to the lacquer including some chips and cracks. Some inlay with restoration. Larger chip to left corner and hinge pin detached to the lid is loose. The interior with similar old wear.
