Edo period (early 18th century)
Two cups decorated in underglaze blue in the manner of Frederik van Frytom, each well with a roundel depicting a leaping stag in a landscape, the inner and outer rims with washed-blue bands, the outside with a landscape with two figures and a horseman with trees and buildings, two circumferential lines to the foot, a typical Chinese style inscription to the base; the other two cups decorated in underglaze blue in the manner of Frederik van Frytom, each well with a roundel depicting a naval battle with three figures in a boat in the foreground, the inner and outer rims with wavy bands, the outside with a seascape with European ships, tents and a figure, a Chinese style inscription to the base
