Decorated in iron-red, black enamel and gilt on underglaze blue with a central roundel depicting blossoming cherry, plum and hydrangea issuing from rockwork, rolled-up and flapping curtains with hanging tassels above, encircled to the rim with a wide band depicting two pairs of ho-o birds amongst various trees and peony, scrolling clouds with karahana [Chinese floral scrolls] on an underglaze blue ground, the reverse with sprays of peony, chrysanthemum and pomegranate
