Decorated in iron-red and gilt on underglaze blue with a central roundel depicting two oxen playing beside pavilions and peony beneath a blossoming cherry tree, surrounded by a band of karakusa, the rim with a band of panels containing pine, bamboo and plum divided by karakusa and an encircling band with shaped panels with ho-o birds reserved on a hanabishi ground, the reverse with sprays of peony, plum and pomegranate
