A Rare Group of Eighteen Imari Miniature ‘Doll’s House’ Objects
Edo period (late 17th – early 18th century)
Comprising four ewers, three shaving basins, two mugs, two double-gourd vases, two foliated dishes, two chamber-pots, two drug pots and one cuspidor, each decorated in iron-red and gilt, some with underglaze blue, the double-gourd vases with dragons, ho-o birds and sacred pearls, the rest with various floral designs, mainly chrysanthemum
3.1 - 4.5cm. high (ewers, mugs, vases, chamber-pots, drug pots and cuspidors), 4.9 - 7.5cm. wide (shaving basins and dishes)

The miniature porcelain objects were popular in the Netherlands for the doll’s houses, which were not for children but replicas of townhouses professionally furnished for interior decoration.
