A soft-metal-inlaid bronze jar and a cover
Meiji period (late 19th century), with mark of Nogawa
Of oval form with short neck and foot, finely cast, chiseled and inlaid in silver with a rooster and hen beneath a blossoming cherry tree on one side, and on the opposite flowers and butterflies, the details finely patinated in gilt, silver, shakudo and copper, the lid set with a finial of a flower; mark on base
