Lot Essay
Helen Edith Pincombe was born in 1908 in Darjeeling, India. She was educated in Australia but came to Britain in 1925, training under William Staite Murray at the Royal College of Art. Her style was influenced by English traditional and eastern ceramics. She worked with a wheel, and used a Pueblo coiling technique.
