A similar example of Mount Fuji with clouds by Namikawa Sosuke, a Japanese important cultural property, was exhibited at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893 and is now held in the Tokyo National Museum. See http:/webarchives.tnm.jp/imgsearch/index, accession number C0037415. For other similar examples of the same subject by Namikawa Sosuke, a cigarette case and a small box in the collection of the Kiyomizu Sannenzaka Museum, see Murata Masayuki, Bakumatsu Meiji no Kogei [Japanese crafts of the late Edo and Meiji periods], (Kyoto, 2006), p. 53.
