Meiji period (late 19th century)
The okimono modelled as a cockerel perched on a taiko drum with stand, decorated in underglaze blue and a clear glaze with a slight blue tinge, the feathers of the bird realistically rendered, the drum painted with a mitsudomoe design and wood grain body, the stand with birds and seigaiha [stylised wave pattern]
