Signed Kinjyo Noga zo, Kutani, Meiji period (late 19th century)
A rectangular porcelain vase with everted neck, decorated overall with a speckled white glaze, each side with rectangular panel finely painted in various coloured enamels and gilt, alternately depicting a stream running through a lush mountainous landscape, peonies behind a bamboo fence, a peacock and peahen on a rocky outcrop and a cockerel and hen in front a bamboo fence with flowers including chrysanthemums, wild pinks and grasses, the neck with a band of stylised brocade, fitted wood box
