Meiji period (late 19th century)
Of bulbous ovoid form on tripod feet, chiselled, worked and inlaid in silver gilt on a darkly patinated ground, one side with a scene showing Mt. Fuji beneath a moon above a coastal village and a sailing boat on water, the other side with birds amongst blossoming plum, the cover with shippo design, the finial in the form of chrysanthemum
