The square lid finely deigned with three lacquer inro and Chinese ink cake in gold, silver and iro-e takamaki-e, inlaid mother-of-pearl, pewter, various stones including malachite and cinnabar lacquer on a dark brown ground, the interior of the lid designed with ancient bronze seals inlaid in lacquer and stone on a dense nashiji ground, fitted with a brush, an ink cake holder, a piercer and a knife in gold and nashiji stripes bands, an inkstone and shakudo and gilt fan-shaped water dropper
