Lot Essay

In this design, Minamoto no Tametomo (far left) is shown on a rocky slope, sinking the lead ship of the Taira fleet with a single arrow, while his mistress Sasarae (centre left), his retainer Oniyasha standing on a rocky outcrop (centre right), and a group of islanders watch in admiration.
