Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The pile has uneven wear, mostly remaining a couple of millimetres above the level of the knot collar, with scattered spots just at or below the knot collar revealing the structure beneath. The upper left edge in the border has areas where the pile is lacking, possibly associated with past moth damage. There is a natural corrosion to areas of the silver grey pile with mostly rests just at the level of the knot collar. The upper end has a repaired split in the centre measuring approx. 15cm. long. The selvages are original and secure and each end is original with kilim and fringes, the kilim partially lacking at the centre of each edge.
