The pile mostly remains a millimetre above the level of the knot collar except for the brown which has heavily corroded and is beneath the knot collar revealing the structure beneath. There are a couple of small holes, one in the centre of the central medalliona and another in the lower right guard stripe, each measuring approx. 3cm. in diameter. The colours retain a good level of saturation but could benefit from a surface clean. There is a localised light colour run in th red causing a halo in the surrounding white pile but this is more notable ont he reverse than the face of the carpet. Each end is lacking part of the yellow minor stripe and outer striped minor stripe. The selvages are mostly secure but lacking in small areas.
