The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In fairly good condition overall.
With the inevitable knocks, marks, losses, scratches and shrinkage cracks, consistent with age and use.
As stated re-gilt, the current gilding toned down and with losses, rubbing, cracking and chipped overall. Most of the high points of carving rubbed to reveal bare timber and apparently white clay and reddish pink bole.
Some flaking to the inner border which would benefit from stabilising.
The cartouche has broken historically and previously repaired. Currently loose and slightly unstable and would benefit from securing to avoid further breaks.
Some other minor knocked losses to the edges of carving, as to be expected.
The mirror plate replaced and 20th century - heavily but evenly foxed with central vertical loss to silvering running through the plate.
The backboards apparently replaced.
Otherwise structually secure and ready to hang.
