The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
As illustrated, the pile has uneven wear with scattered areas throughout where the pile is lacking and the structure is revealed. The upper right quandrant of the rug has a localised colour fade. Where the pile remains in the remainder of the rug, the colours retain a good level of saturation. There are scattered touches of repiling which have faded and are slightly lighter in tone than the original. The lower end is lacking half of the serrated border and plain outer stripes and the lower end is lacking plain outer stripes. Each end has been overbound with later added kilims and fringes and are secure. The selvages are mostly secure, although lacking in some places
