The pile has uneven wear and has scattered areas where the foundation is visible, probably associated with old moth damage. The most concentrated area is to the field and border at the centre of one end of the carpet. Where the flatwoven surface remains, the colours show a good level of saturation. The carpet has scattered repairs, including an insert to one end border measuring approx.. 45 x 14cm. There are further repairs scattered throughout including two sections within the central cartouche in one of the side columns which the largest measuring approx.. 18 x 16cm. The carpet has a couple of small holes. It has been lined with a green fabric to the reverse but is loose is some sections and would benefit from being secured.
