The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The majority of the flat woven surface remains is stable, however there are some losses to the upper right corner, and small areas to the outer minor stripes at each end. There is a further small hole to the centre of the field at one end measuring approx. 4 x 2cm. that requires stabilising. There has been a heavy natural corrosion to the dark brown revealing the structure beneath. The carpet also has some uneven wear which is most concentrated to one end border and the field at this end. The colours are slightly muted on the face of the carpet but are stronger on the reverse and could be displayed this way. The upper half of the field has four darker stains that are mirrored around the central vertical axis. There are scattered small repairs including a cobbled repair to the centre of the upper half of the field measuring approx.. 7 x 7cm. Each end retains parts of the original macramé fringes and the selvages are original but frayed in areas.
