The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

-Overall condition: good. Shows normal signs of use, including abrasion marks and prominent oxidation traces on the base and top back.
-The movement is ticking at the time of cataloguing and all functions are working; however, a service is recommended. Christie’s does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
-Onyx: with a few abrasion marks and one corner (front) prominently chipped.
-Lapis Lazuli: in good condition, with typical appearance and some visible pyrite. A few chips to the edges and some traces of glue (repair) on the top left.
-Malachite: in good condition, with typical botryoidal appearance.
-Rubies, sapphires and emeralds: with typical inclusions, some surface reaching.
-Diamonds: bright and lively.
