The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- Overall condition good. Wear commensurate with age, evidence of alteration and traces of tarnish. Brooch with later single pin fitting, earrings with later wire hook.
- Principal ruby collets possibly replaced, a few small emeralds also replaced.
- Metal unsigned. 19th century pin with import mark for silver and gold from a non-treaty country (ET).
- Rubies: with typical natural inclusions, a few with chips.
- Emeralds: with typical natural inclusions, a few with chips and abrasions.
- Diamonds: total weight very approximately 3.50 - 4.50 carats, one rose-cut diamond deficient (brooch).
