The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- Overall condition good. Wear commensurate with age. Diamond-set push piece in good working order, closes securely, hinge mechanism slightly loose, but secure.
- Additional marks: French assay marks for 18 carat gold, maker's mark 'SAM painter's palette' for Strauss, Allard et Meyer, mother-of-pearl inlay with monogram 'M' for Vladimir Makowsky.
- White jade: with typical mottling, some areas of yellowish discolouration, light scratches and small nicks.
- Mother-of-pearl: in good condition.
- Onyx and chalcedony: overall in good condition, small scratches.
- Diamonds: total weight approximately 0.10 - 0.15 carat.
