Lot Essay

Rupert Emmerson trained at the Chiswick Art School and was one of the main designers at Cartier London during the mid-20th century contributing to bringing the Maison to the forefront of design. He is particularly known for his role in creating the iconic Cartier 'Crash' watch in collaboration with Jean-Jacques Cartier in the 1960s.
