The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- Overall condition good. Some small scratches and nicks to the metal, consistent with normal wear. Some small areas of tarnish. Single pin fittings.
- Leg deficient to the dragonfly with cabochon opal wings (second brooch).
- Metal unsigned.
- Opals: in good condition overall, display play of colour with predominantly green and blue flashes, one or two tiny fissures.
- Sapphires and rubies: with a few typical inclusions.
- Emeralds: with a few typical inclusions.
- Enamel: in good condition, a few tiny nicks.
- Diamonds: total weight approximately 2.00 - 2.50 carats.
