The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- Overall condition good. Some minor scratches to metal and small areas of tarnish. Single pin fitting with safety catch, possibly replaced.
- Additional marks: maker's mark for Van Cleef & Arpels.
- Emeralds: the cabochon emerald measures very approximately 14.2 x 10.5 x 7.1 mm, with numerous typical inclusions, eye visible and some surface reaching, scratches and small abrasions throughout. The faceted emeralds, with typical inclusions, some surface reaching, small cavities, nicks and abrasions throughout.
- Rubies: with typical inclusions, some surface reaching, one cavity, nicks and small abrasions throughout.
