Lot Essay

Gilbert Albert (1930 – 2019) was a Swiss jewelry and watch designer known for his avant-garde and nature-inspired styles. Albert was heavily influenced by modern artists, including Brancusi and Mondrian. Prior to launching his own atelier, Albert worked under Henri Stern during his leadership of Patek Phillipe. Heavily inspired by the natural world, Albert often incorporated untraditional, metamorphic and organic materials into his pieces.
