FURTHER DETAILS
Renowned for its elegant creations during the Art Deco era, the House of Janesich traces its origins back to 1835, when Leopoldo Janesich founded the firm in Trieste, Italy. His growing success enabled him to build a network of clients and suppliers across Italy and beyond, including Vienna and Hanau.
It was his son Giovanni who expanded the brand internationally, establishing a Paris branch on Rue de Lafayette in 1896 after years of business travel. Giovanni’s son Alberto later took charge in Paris, enhancing Janesich’s reputation not only for exquisite jewellery but also as a trusted dealer in gemstones and pearls. Meanwhile, Alberto’s brother Giuseppe managed the Trieste store, and together they cultivated relationships with leading jewellery houses such as Bulgari, Boucheron, Vever, and Chaumet.
By 1913, Janesich had opened offices in London’s New Bond Street, Paris’s prestigious Rue de la Paix, and Monte Carlo, opposite the famed casino. The 1920s and 1930s marked a golden age for the firm, celebrated for its refined jewellery and accessories in the emerging Art Deco style.
Today, Janesich remains a family-run business in Trieste, led by Francesco, the sixth generation, continuing a legacy of craftsmanship and timeless design.
