拍品专文

Eleanor Searle Whitney McCollum (1891-2002) was a philanthropist and patron of the arts who was married to two important American men: Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney, a scion of the prominent Vanderbilt and Whitney families, and later Leonard Franklin McCollum, an oil tycoon. With a lifelong dedication to philanthropy, she made significant contributions to various charitable causes spanning the arts, music and medicine, particularly in Ohio and Texas. She had a keen eye for jewelry, furniture, ceramics and silver, and her collection was originally offered at Christie’s in 2003.
