Lot Essay

A leading figure of Belgian Art Nouveau, Philippe Wolfers (1858 – 1929) is celebrated for his refined craftsmanship and sculptural approach to design. Beyond his jewellery, he created a remarkable series of objects, notably delicate perfume bottles carved from precious gemstones such as rock crystal, beryl and tourmaline, often accented with gold, enamel or gemstones. Lot 311 reflects Wolfers’ mastery in harmonising translucency, colour and precious detail — hallmarks of his artistic vision and technical precision.
