An inscribed copy of the first edition, third printing. Known as "The Big Book", William Griffith Wilson's seminal text Alcoholics Anonymous: The Story of How More than One Hundred Men Have Recovered from Alcoholism was published four years after he and Robert Holbrook Smith founded AA in 1935. This copy is inscribed by the author: "No AA Group has failed. Nor shall you! Bill Wilson."

Octavo (230 × 151mm). Half-title, "The Doctor's Opinion" beginning on p. 1 (lightly toned). With third-printing dust-jacket printed without price (light spotting and discoloration, chipped along edges); in archival cover. Original publisher's blue cloth, lettering on upper cover in blind and on spine in gold (a little rubbing, front hinge just starting); custom box.
