The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- Overall condition: good. Shows normal signs of wear, with scratches and abrasions throughout gold, vermeil and silver, presence of oxidation. Fitted with an unscrewable single pinstem clipback. An anchor hole on the bird's wing. A small trap door (can be opened, empty) at the back of the brooch.
- Additional marks: partially erased and unidentifiable French maker's mark.
- Sapphire: carat weight can not be exactly gauged due to the setting, severe chips at the junction of the table's facets.
- Diamonds: carat weight can not be exactly gauged due to the diamond’s cut and the setting. Bright and lively.
