Maison Boivin’s fruits

Let's immerse ourselves in the Boivin Garden, where a profusion of fruit trees blossoms with their fruits! The naturalistic jewels, depicting flowers and fruits, are inseparable from the very essence of René Boivin since the advent of Juliette Moutard. This eminent and talented creator shaped bold and original pieces for Maison René Boivin from 1931 until her retirement in 1970.

The beginnings of fruit-themed jewelry date back to the late 1920s, with earrings reminiscent of clusters of currants (1929). Subsequent creations were imbued with a touch of exoticism or influenced by the splendor of forests. This inclination is evident in pieces such as a poppy-shaped clip, a "fruit salad" bracelet (1934), acorn-mimicking earrings (1937), a mushroom-shaped brooch (1937), and a pineapple-shaped brooch (1938), of which we present an example here.

Dating from around 1950 and created by Juliette Moutard, this rare set includes two brooches and a ring adorned with a gradation of garnets, citrines, and peridots representing the leaves. A radiant and timeless testament to Juliette Moutard's artistic ingenuity within Maison René Boivin.
