Spread your wings…

Symbols of freedom and women's emancipation, birds have always been a privileged theme in jewelry.

Initiating their creativity with the design of wings, Maison Boivin, from the early years of the Second World War, gave birth to imposing patriotic birds, such as the eagle, crafted in gold and adorned with diamonds. To celebrate the Liberation, Maison Boivin chose to create a brooch in the shape of a rooster, the traditional emblem of French determination. Its body, made of a substantial pearl, and its plumage, embellished with rubies and sapphires, reflect the colors of the French flag: red, white, and blue!

Conceived around 1940, the Parisian sparrow is depicted with a body composed of corundum cabochons. This more recent version, inspired by a design from Juliette Moutard, is inset with pink tourmalines and clear sapphires. And for the first time at auction, earrings with stylized wings come to complement the brooch.
