The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- Overall condition : good. Shows minor signs of wear. Minor abrasions throughout the gold from wear. Fitted with a double pinstem clipback.
- Aventurine quartz: with typical inclusions, a few surface-reaching and very minor chips at the edge.
- Ruby: approximate total ruby weight of brooch: 0.06 carats. With typical inclusions, a few surface-reaching and at the junction of the table's facets and a heavy chip at table.
