Each on shaped circular base with baluster stem and socket, cast and chased with rococo scrolls and flower garlands, the bases engraved with a crest with baron's coronet above, the later nozzles with petal rims, marked on bases

The crest is that of Smith as borne by the Barons Carrington, probably for Robert Smith, 1st Baron Carrington F.R.S., F.S.A. (1752-1838), a banker and politican who was raised to the peerage in 1797.
