Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The catalogue illustration of this beautiful clock is accurate.
Its overall condition is good.
In addition to the inevitable minor dents, marks and scratches due to age and use, there are absolutely minute hairline cracks, especially to the main dial between the 10 and 11 numerals, and between the 4 and 5 numerals.
There is a minor damage to the enamel on the lower left dial, near the “Dimanche” inscription. The gilding is very nicely preserved, and show two pink and yellow tones.
Overall a very impressive clock in ready to display condition.
