Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Hinged at the upper corners on the reverse to the mat-backing with archival tape. Artist's tack-holes to the four corners and center lower edges in places. Upper and left edges deckled. Right and lower edges ever so slightly uneven. Slight undulation to the sheet in place. A few faint handling creases, most notably along the left edge and to the center lower edge. Light-stained and very faintly mat-stained. Points of foxing in places, most notably in the lower fifth of the image. Staining along the upper edge in places, possibly due to adhesive residue from a previous mounting. Small fill to the upper center edge. Minute tear to the left upper edge. The line is strong and the charcoal is well preserved. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that the work is in overall good condition.
