Immaculate Conception

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work is in overall good and stable condition. Areas of stable hairline craquelure with associated stable losses are exhibited throughout. A seam with associated stable losses is noted running vertically down the right side of the canvas. Mild surface irregularities are noted along the edges of the work. A seam is noted running horizontally across the virgin's chest. Several repairs are exhibited on the reverse of the work. Ultraviolet light examination reveals areas of inpainting scattered throughout. No further apparent condition issues are noted. The canvas is unlined.
