The work is in overall good and stable condition. Stretcher bar marks are noted along the edges as well as running horizontally across the center of the work. Some small stable losses are noted along the edges of the canvas, likely due to framing. The canvas exhibits mild buckling, surface irregularities and occasional seams scattered throughout. Some pinpoint accretions are noted. Ultraviolet light examination reveals a small repair on the virgin's neck and some pinpoint areas of inpainting along the edges. No further apparent condition issues are noted. The canvas is relined and laid on board.
