The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The side edges of the canvas have been trimmed and the work is relined and wax lined. Mild frame abrasions with associated tiny accretions and minute stable losses are to the edges. Soft scuffs, small stable losses and stable networks of craquelure are scattered. Two short horizontal creases are to the center of the canvas, and another short vertical crease is to the right of center. Faint surface irregularities are to the upper left corner. Visible under ultraviolet light, small spots of inpainting are scattered.
