The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work is in overall good condition. Minor stable craquelure is scattered throughout. UV light examination reveals minor touches of inpainting along all four edges as well to 2 circular areas, approximately 1 inch in diameter, in the lower left and right quadrants, and to a fine horizontal line, approximately 12 inches in length, beginning approximately 3 inches in from the left edge of the canvas and extending across the head of the figure at left. These three areas of inpainting correspond to what appear to be repaired tears on the reverse. The painting has been relined.
