Near-uniform decorative green morocco, lettered 'LE GAVROCHE' on upper and lower boards in inlaid lighter green morocco, flowers stamped in gilt outline and inlaid in orange morocco, all edges gilt; housed in custom morocco-backed boxes.

The guestbooks of Le Gavroche beginning at its founding in 1967, containing over 500 signatures including Natalie Wood, Charlie Chaplin, Charlton Heston, Barbra Streisand, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Freddie Mercury, Madonna and many others.

The signatures are particularly rich in figures of stage and screen, including Natalie Wood (2), David Niven, Julie Christie, Alec Guinness (2), Mia Farrow (3), Ralph Richardson, Tony Curtis, Charlie Chaplin (with a caricature self-portrait), Robert Redford, Margot Fonteyn (2), Harry Secombe (with a caricature self-portrait), Charlotte Rampling, John Cleese, Charlton Heston, Gene Hackman, Ingrid Bergman, Spike Milligan (1980), Julie Andrews, Ginger Rogers (1984), Michael Caine, members of the cast of A Fish Called Wanda including John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Palin and Kevin Kline, Diana Rigg, Judi Dench, Woody Allen (2), Barry Humphries, John Gielgud, Danny de Vito, Jon Voight, Barbra Streisand, Brad Pitt (1995), Gwyneth Paltrow (2, the first with Brad Pitt), Ben Kingsley, Sidney Poitier (1996), Steve Martin (1997), Roger Moore, Monica Bellucci, Dan Aykroyd, Steve Coogan, Kristin Scott Thomas, Glenda Jackson and Bill Nighy.

There is an impressive, though smaller, group of signatures by musicians, including André Previn (2), Shirley Bassey (3), Mick Jagger (2), Marianne Faithfull, Lulu, Maurice Gibb, Paul McCartney (2, the first in 1969), Benny Goodman, Donovan (with a drawing of a bird), Ringo Starr (with the message 'all or nothing', 1982), George Michael (1989), Freddie Mercury (1989), Tom Jones, Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Jon Bon Jovi, Barbra Streisand, David Gilmour (2) and Madonna (1997).

Other signatures include sportspeople such as Graham Hill, Henry Cooper, Bobby Charlton, Jimmy Hill, Lester Piggott, Franz Beckenbauer (1986), Paul Gascoigne (1994), Lothar Matthäus, Frankie Dettori (1996), David Ginola, Sebastian Coe and Terry Venables; and others, including Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Ted Heath (2), Roy Jenkins, Benazir Bhutto, and full-page drawings by the cartoonists Michael ffolkes and JAK (Raymond Jackson).
